And she’s challenging everyone to #GimmeFive, and show her 5 things they are doing to be more active, and lead a healthier life.
This MUVE Dancing Game is called "The WAVE." The WAVE is a party game that is super easy to set up. You can actually play this without any floor markers at all. This group movement game gives every dancer the opportunity to shine in from of the whole group. One after the other each dancer will offer a specific move for the whole team to do. We all move together like a wave, all the way to the center, briefly connect with the opposite side and then retreat to the outside lines again. Then the next dancer take the lead for the next motion.

(Celebrate) As part of the fifth anniversary of Let’s Move! First Lady Michelle Obama is encouraging Americans across the country to give out high-fives when they see someone making healthy choices. And she’s challenging everyone to #GimmeFive, and show her 5 things they are doing to be more active, and lead a healthier life. This MUVE Dancing Game is called "Multiple Infinity Loop" and this is a great example of how we at MUVE use dance to stay healthy and active.
The Infinity Loop is a school activity and party game that is super easy to set up. You can actually play this game without any floor markers at all- needing little preparation. The infinity loop acts like catwalk, while participants dance down the middle of the group with their own dance move. This group movement game gives every dancer the opportunity to shine in from of the whole group.
Dance Party for Teens – Team Building Activities for large groups
(The Wire) This MUVE Dancing Game is called "Circle Jump" and its easy to set up because they do not need markings on the ground.
Here we are learning to assert ourselves as well as how to be considerate to others. The group forms a circle and one spot in the center is designated as the “Muse-Spot.” Individual dancers jump into the center to take the lead. The Caller can indicate the switches or he/she can let the individuals decide how long to remain in the center. As soon as the Muse-Spot is vacated another person can “jump” in.
Another variation of MUVE Circle Games: The dancers form a circle and the dance leader starts to demonstrate one “Move” (a simple, short movement pattern) which is picked up by everyone. Then the game leader designates the next Muse by pointing to another dancer. That dancer creates the next Move for everyone and then designates the next leader.
Leading dancers can stay within the circle or the rule can be that the leaders always jumps into the center.
If you are working with an inexperienced group you might want to specify the sequence of leadership ahead of time. For example start at one point of the circle and go one after another until everyone has a chance to lead.

"Center Muse Circle" the game to get everyone moving, leading and sharing their creativity.
(Shake it off) Eighty+ 5th-8th Graders begin their Halloween Celebration with a MUVE Dancing Party. Removable stickers and tape, create many triangles in the room. A group of Muses alternate leading the dance. The Muses move into the Muse-spot in the center clockwise. Change is initiated by the Caller or the individual Center Muse. Only the Muses rotate after they hear the call, 'MOVE'. The other dancers stay at their locations and follow the Muse in the center loosely. Having a center Muse unifies all dancers in a common dance action. Find detailed instructions for this and all the other great MUVE dancing Games at https://muve.org/muve-dancing-games/

Youth Group Games- Team building for Teens- Great Ice breaker
(That's not my name) When we begin a workshop with a room full of teenagers, we like to show them how it's done with the help of a couple of daring volunteers. We use dance games for team building activities and these games can work great as an icebreaker. In this case two winners camp staffers volunteered to be the "Center-MUSES" together with me. The inspiration for the dance movements, the 3 Basic MUVES are used (Walk, Tap & Root). This helps give students a foundation to create their dance steps.
Teen Games- Dance for Fitness and Fun – Youth Group Team-Building Games
(Gentleman) The group is playing MUVE's classic game, 'Independent Triangles'. This is a great game because everyone gets to contribute their creative moves and take turns leading and following a small group. 3 people make a triangle team. Players rotate within their triangle to the Muse (leading) spot to inspire the two fellow dancers. The call for a triangle-rotation is "Huli Huli' and it moves players one position clockwise within the individual triangle. This is perfect for any size group.
Youth Group Games – Dance Fitness Activity for Teen Ice Breakers
At last years summer's Winners Camp workshop we played the MUVE Dancing Game (MDG) circle jump- which is played without any markings and can serve almost any sized group.
In 'Circle Jump', dancers form a circle and a dance leader jumps in the center. They are now the Muse, demonstrating a simple dance movement for the group to follow. After the Muse has explored different movement ideas that the group is emulating, they will hop back into the circle. The person to the left becomes the next Dance Leader and this continues until each dancer has had a turn leading.

(The Phoenix) Teenagers and staff of the Winners' Camp in Hawaii, dance exercise in MUVE dance work shop. This group activity for teens is one of the MUVE Dancing Games. Removable stickers on the ground divide the students in Two groups. Each section has stickers on opposing sides. Each side has a Dance leader, suggesting a movement for the group to follow. The 2 Basic MUVEs are this dances theme.
This fun party game works like a charm. Try it with your next party guests, or any social group you might attend. Our dancing games bring together extroverts and introverts, into one giant dance party for all. There is no age-limit for MUVE dancing!
Icebreaker Games for High School- Fun Large Group Dance Fitness for Teens
(Say Hey) There are many MUVE dancing games you can use to ignite a fun activity with any group. If your group are long time friends or new to know, this game is a great ice breaker game that supports creativity, positive social interaction and physical fitness. Whether you are looking to occupy a group of kids with fun games at a slumber party, or want to inspire new students to playfully interact with the class, MUVE has got a game for you.
There is no prior knowledge needed for the game. All games are super easy, and people of all shapes, sizes and age groups and abilities can play these community building games together. For large groups we recommend that you prepare a MUVE dancing grid with removable stickers and tape. However, there are several games that you can do with absolutely no preparation.
The game above is called "independent TRIANGLES". Ask your players to form teams of 3 and stand at the corner of a triangle. Two corners of the triangle are green and one special dot is red. Then let them decide who will be the first dance leader for their team, they will stand on the red dot aka, the "Leader-Spots" (Muse-spot). The Muse will provide the dance inspiration for the other two players. Then demonstrate the "Huli Huli" rotation principle with one of the Triangle-team. "Huli Huli" means: Everybody moves one position clockwise. Now we have a new leader in the Triangle. Have everyone practice the Huli Huli rotation without music first.
This MUVE Dancing Game is called "Towel Fairies". This game is about connecting with another person in a playful way and to inspire each other. It's a great party game for any occasion because it does not need any floor-markings. It is super easy to set up.
All players partner up. Each couple receives a towel to connect with each other. Partners dance freely around the room until the Caller calls for a 'Mix-up'. Each dancer now finds a new partner by either waving their towel or wiggle their fingers in the air.
To add even more inspiration for your dancers, you can give this dance a theme. You can use the MUVE Concept Cards to help students find creative ideas.

Young adult dance exercise game to Katy Perry's Hot 'N Cold
Young adults and teens create spontaneous moves for each other inspired by a MUVE Concept Slideshow. This video shows how the MUVE Dancing Tools help inspire creativity. The computer randomly displays concepts to spark ideas for dance moves.
You can play this dancing game without a Triangle Grid and just designate one "MUSE-Spot" per 3 person team. However, especially for younger dancers, the TRIANGLES help communication within the team. They also speed up the reset time after what we call a "MIX-UP."
In a "MIX-UP" the players leave their teams to find new team mates. In MUVE we like to "mix-it up," to help dancers connect with everyone, and not just with their own friends. MUVE is a community building activity made of fun and healthy exercise disguised as play.
MUVE Community Dancing Games get the party started at Teen Winners Camp in Hawaii
(Dance With Me Tonight) When I start a workshop with a room full of unsuspecting teenagers I like to show them how it's done with the help of a couple of daring volunteers. In this case two winners camp staffers volunteered to be the "Center-MUSES" together with me. As an inspirational concept, I suggested that we select different body-parts and make them the center of our motions.
We used verbal cues, but as you teach this game you can also use the MUVE Concept Cards to help the students find creative ideas.
Spontaneous Dance Activity Game for teens from Winners Camp in Hawaii
(You make me feel) This MUVE Dancing Game is called "Infinity Loops." For this physical activity dance game we added little towels to the mix. When you add objects to a dancing game it adds new movement possibilities. Toys can also help to forget worries about what to do. You have got something in your hands and it leads you to an idea. The teenagers in this video are new to MUVE and also new to each other. The goal of this movement activity is to connect with a partner and dance down the "catwalk" showing of your moves to the rest of the group. The teens are learning to dance in the spotlight - a good practice for anyone. The job is simple and you get several chances to come up with movement ideas.
Spontaneous Exercise Dancing Game for Teenagers and Young Adults
(Howlin' for you) Winner's Camp teens and staff play a spontaneous dance-along game with toys, in this case paper plates. This game is called "independent Triangles Game" because the players form groups of three to inspire each other. Each triangle has one specially marked Muse-spot. Whoever lands on the spot lead the dance for his/her triangle. In this version of the game the individuals in each triangle decide when to rotate clockwise to move a new Muse to the spot.

Creating spontaneous dance as a team – MUVE Teen dance exercise workshop
(Dance Again) This game is called "Pods & Pearls" and we are playing it on the TRIANGLE Grid. The lesson is about teamwork and cooperation, how to look out for each other and how to negotiate moving as a single unit/organism. The teams of 3 players connect to each other with small towels and explore the possibilities. "Pearls" refers to creating a string/line dance, and "Pods" means creating a circle. When the Caller calls for a "MIX-UP" the players leave their teams to find a new triangle and new team mates. In MUVE we like to "mix-it up," to help participants connect with everyone, and not just with their usual buddies. MUVE is social interaction made easy!
NEW Group Dance Exercise Game – Navigate in a Joyful Motion Dance
(Pom Poms) This spontaneous dancing game teaches how to navigate though the space created by three people. As the teams weave in and around each other, each dancers has to physically negotiate and time his movement to not collide, to get his turn and to create openings for others. This is about confidently claiming ones own space as well as to look out for and provide opportunities for others.
This MUVE Dancing Game is called "WEAVING" and is easy to set up. At minimum you want to put down one sticker for each 3-people team because this will give you the opportunity to call a "MIX-UP" to create new combinations of players. In MUVE we always dance with everyone and like to "mix-it-up."
In this particular game we go from one weaving team right into the next one. You can also alternate between "independent Triangles" and "Weaving" (see instructions here https://muve.org/muve-dancing-games/
Teenagers exercise together— Spontaneous Group Dance
(Blurred Lines) We spiced this MUVE Partnering Game with props (paper-plate holders). The idea is simple: create a dance with a partner. The plates bring fun new dancing ideas and each time the Caller calls for a "Mix-up" we get a new partner. MUVE Dancing is all about having fun and enjoying each other in dance. We like to dance with everyone, not just the people we already know.
The MUVE Partnering Game is easy to set up and can change a slow party into a house rockin' party in minutes. This fun and exciting group dancing game is explained here https://muve.org/muve-dancing-games/

MUVE dance activity ideas are great for groups of youngsters and seniors alike because the dancing is improvised and can suit any ability. You always make it your own style/speed/shape. MUVE dancing is a creative opportunity to shine, and to share in fun and play with community.
Special for this particular dancing game is the added fun of manipulating toys (objects). There is a Dancing Grid of 7 Triangles marked on the ground. Each Triangle features a set of toys. As the Caller calls for a rotation ("MOVE",) dancers drop their toys to move to the next Triangle.
(Gotta Feeling) Teenagers and staff of the Winners' Camp in Hawaii, dance exercise in MUVE dance work shop. This group activity for teens is one of the MUVE Dancing Games. It is called a Muse-Circle Game with Center Muse. The whole group follows the lead of the Center-Muse loosely. Seven Muses alternate to lead the dancing exercises.

Fun Activities for Teenagers – Gaga Song Telephone
(Telephone) Dance exercise and MUVE workout for teenagers. This MUVE Dancing Game is called a "Revolving" Game because with each "Call" every player moves to a new spot on a dancing-grid marked on the floor. There is an Outer and an Inner Circle. The Inner Circle is called the Muse-Circle, because it's dancers lead the whole group as they reach the "Center-Muse-Spot." Revolving Dancing Games require attention and cooperation.
MUVE Dancing Games are also great dancing exercises for school. You can MUVE in classroom or create a comprehensive school physical activity program (CSPAP) for your whole school!
Teenage Games with Music and Dance – Fun Exercises for Teenagers _Floor
(On the Floor) This MUVE Dancing Game has a complicated Movement Pattern. It is called: "Independent Muse Circle with Huli Huli". Not only are the 7 Muses rotating on the Inner Muse Circle, to independently inspire each Triangle; a second signal calls for "Huli Huli" (clockwise rotation by one position within the Triangles). Special attention is needed because of the two different Movement Patterns. You might be moved onto a Muse-Spot and all of a sudden leading your Triangle. The next minute you are "Move"d on the Muse-Circle to inspire the next Triangle. These teens are new to MUVE and they are doing amazingly well figuring out where to go. The rule is, when you loose your way, just take the next available spot, the group movement will take care of itself with a little help from your friends.

Spontaneous Dance Along Game Workout for Teens, School Students, Older Adults or Party Guests
MDG • Bajo Un Mismo Sol - Winners' Camp teens in their first "All Triangles MUVE." This is a dancing game set up where every person in the game gets to rotate into the center spot to lead the whole group! Again the grid on the floor is made up of Triangles. After all players in the center triangle have rotated to the "MUSE" Spot (leading spot) the 3 people of each Triangle move to the next Triangle on the grid and a new group of 3 dancers take over the center Triangle and the "lead" for the whole group.
Dancing along is always loose and spontaneous. The MUVERS pick up the basic dancing idea from the MUSE and make it their own by interpreting the dancing in their very personal style. I play this dance game towards the end of the workshop when the kids have gotten used to the basic ideas of inspiring each other. They have already led each other in the more "private" independent triangles set up, where they were just leading each other in groups of 3. Now the whole group is watching, and it can bring up some insecurities for the novice, who is now put before the eyes of everyone to procure a creative idea. Simple dance moves are the answer!
MUVE dancing games are dancing workouts for people of all ages. You can easily set up this easy dance workout with your groups of seniors, your party guests or your school class.

Creative Movement Dancing to "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga • Playful workouts for teenagers
How do you get a group of teens to dance exercise? Let them play! The MUVE Dancing Games (MDGs) provide simple game instructions to liven up any group at school, at home, or at a party. This MDG is called "Catwalk in Pairs." Two parallel lines on the ground create a runway. Couples parade down the middle, split up at the bottom and move back to the top on the sides, while cheering on the next couples. This game has elements of creative movement exploration and the beginnings of performance skills training.
The kids in this dance video are campers from the Spring Winners Camp in Hawaii. Lady Gaga's "Born this way" gets the teens in the spirit for letting loose their "locomotor skills" ( walking, jumping, skipping...) and even "non-locomotor skills" (bending, turning swaying ...)

Dance exercise to Katy Perry song "Firework" – Aerobic workouts for teenagers
First dance of the Spring Winners' Camp MUVE workshop. All kids are brand new to MUVE. At this stage of the game some of the kids are still a bit bewildered about the idea of "dancing along". As demonstrated here in their simplest shape, anyone can do them spontaneously. They are perfect to get this group of teens moving and grooving. Dancing to the popular song "Firework" also helps everyone to get inspired. However, you might want to pace yourself, we are entering aerobic dancing territory! The young adults you are seeing here in this dance improvisation workshop are loosely following the lead dancer (MUSE) in the center. Take a deep breath and jump in! It's a great stress buster! -- For this, the second dance of the workshop, Maggie asked for volunteers to help her lead the group. So two participants get their first taste of being a Muse. All others dance along loosely. They are instructed to turn within their own triangles each time the Muses turn. This prepares them for the next step, the Multiple Triangles Dancing Game, where they all will be leading the dance within their individual triangles.

High School Musical • Spontaneous Dancing Workouts for Teenagers
www.muve.com A Group Dancing Game at a Winners' Camp staff workshop, 8/2010. This spontaneous dance video demonstrates how much fun a large group of people can have with a stack of paper plates. Toys are often used in MUVE Dancing Games (MDGs) to ignite creative play. Having two plates in your hands shifts the focus from thinking to playing. This super lively improvised dance is an "independent TRIANGLES Dancing Game." All players have formed groups of three, and each triangle has it's own "Muse," as we call the lead dancer in MUVE. Independent means that the inspiration comes from within the each triangle, and not from a singular, central Muse-spot, which is common in many MUVE dances. All triangles are continuously rotating, and everyone gets to be the lead-dancer (Muse) for as long as they choose to. Being a dance leader to just two other dancers is less intimidating for the novice. All dancers in this games are new to MUVE, which proves the point that you do not need to be prepared to do a MUVE-dance, just willing to let loose and have fun with your friends at home, in school or anywhere you can find a dance floor. MGDs are great disco party games, a wonderful way to connect with friends and loved ones in an easy cardio workout that is full of fun, excitement, creativity and community.

This video is one of the very first MUVE dancing Games. Maggie had cast a crew of young adults to create a spontaneous dance for a DEMO. The purpose of the DEMO was to show prospective musical artist collaborators how a "MUVE" dance workout dvd would look like, so they might agree to let Maggie use their music. The dancers are Rachel and Ashley, two high-school students, James, a dance student who had responded to the casting call on Craig's list and Etienne, Maggie's teenage neighbor. None of the dancers had any experience with MUVE before this shoot! That's the beauty of MUVE. All you need is the willingness to have fun and enjoy the power of music and improvised dance. MUVE is easy, as you can see in this aerobic dance workout. Youthful energy turned this into a real cardio funk dance exercise workout.
